I've got to get this off my chest!

On second thought, I kind of like all that stuff there. The painting is a still life I did years ago. It's fun to still have the original items that are in the painting.

These three chests have been in IT Guy's family for generations. It's now our turn to honor them with a place in our home. We proudly welcome the chests and their vintage contents.

They are filled with baby shoes, old wedding albums, vintage photos, and old quilts.

My M-I-L antiqued this chest years ago. A Steven Walenta print, a wedding present from the photographer and author himself, hangs above the chest. Look at the depth in that picture. It looks like you could just reach through that frame into that old room, doesn't it?

This small chest is my favorite.

Thanks for letting me get these off my chest.

  3. FringeGirl, The bed is family history too. It was IT Guy's parents bed. Then my oldest son took it and refurbished it. I think he did a great job. That room is the old toy room. You can stay in it when you come to visit!

  7. I love your chests. The print of the old room is great! It sorta "speaks" to you. Something I would never get tired of looking at. I like your still life too. It would look right at home with my chickens.

  8. I love those chest. That picture looks like a window or a mirror of another room.

So does your husband prefer a big chest to a small one or vice versa? I mean a small chest is so much easier to haul around. It doesn't hurt your back and it's easier to find a place to fit them. Although it's been my experience that most men really like big chest. ;)

  9. Gladys, One of us is a naughty girl - you for writing it or me for thinking it. Or maybe BOTH of us! Funny paragraph. Love the well-written innuendo.
