Seed bead angel pin

This is a fun project with stunning results - if you have three hours of life you don't need anymore, because that's how long this little beauty takes me to make! Unreal, huh?

And it's impossible to photograph in focus. Trust me, I tried many times!

Here's the pattern. The trick is to keep the string from showing and to have the front look the same as the back. The pencil drawing below the pattern of the body is my attempt at showing you how it's threaded together.

Don't forget to make the top of her halo which isn't included in the pattern. The single "leg" is one piece of the dress.

Oh, and use a magnifying glass that fastens onto your table top. It will save your eyes from a lot of strain!

Glue a tie tac type pin on the angel's back and you're done...until your friends see it and want one too.

My cousin pinned the one I made her onto her hospital pillow so when she woke up from an operation, it was the first thing she saw.

  2. Very pretty. I'm not sure I'd have the patience to do that.

  4. 3 hours and a magnifying glass? hmmm...
let me go back and read the post again.

Nope, I don't have the patience for that but I tell ya...you do a wonderful job at it girl!

(I would have to REALLY love someone to spend 3 hours of my time and possibly long term disable my eyesight.) You are too sweet!

  5. MUCH prettier that I had imagined.
In addition to being worn as jewelry,
they would make sweet tree ornaments
hung near the tips of a Christmas tree,
or as the only ornaments on a little
'twig' tree, or as an adornment to the
ribbon around a potted plant for an ill
    friend. I'm not being facetious.

  6. You are a rare one....you should be a comic but laughter doeth the heart good like a medicine.
I love this angel. May I download this pattern so I can try and make this...my daughter is going to be having surgery and I would love to have one for her pillow and her best friend also has cancer and I would love to try and make her one.

  7. Really talented, and REALLY cool to have the patience to make that. I would have lost patience at the glue and magnifying glass!! Nice work!

  8. I can tell you right now that project is not for me! If there's anything that drives me crazy, it's trying to make my fingers manipulate tiny objects. Add poor closeup vision and it's a recipe for frustration. I would have to make a giant one out of rope and drilled-out croquet balls.

  9. I like the idea of a croquet ball angel.
Some people feel like religion tries to
hit them over the head to get their attention.
Croquet balls & rope might do the trick.

  10. Way to go girl---very pretty! Thank you for your sweet comments at the Yaya--and yes, I will be posting about the events, workshops and every week will showcase a new designer that has treasures at the Yaya and some of my own.
