Shop at home!
UPDATE: Several of you have asked me what gnarly object I hung up in the second photo. It is not a dried up pelt. It is a lovely piece of driftwood captured at the Brazos River. You may continue reading while I improve my photography skills!
I learned a new term yesterday while visiting links at Sanctuary Art's Make-Over party. The term is "shop at home!" It means to see things you already have in a different light or with a new twist.
So yesterday when I was looking for some of this...
...to hang this...

Love that candle holder! Cher is expressing her inner junker! So cool!
ReplyDeleteReduce, re-use, re-cycle, way to go. That's what I love about antiques and vintage stuff and "junk"! Just wanted to say "thanks" for the post on my blog. The posts made me feel like I wasn't exactly crazy thinking, "wtf" when my 54 year old "ex" has a baby and our oldest daughter will turn 30 in May! I enjoy your blog, and props for being such a dedicated writer. I'm trying! Take care, Sue
ReplyDeleteThat is way cool!!! It goes with the western decor perfectly!

Love the "new" candle holder and your bathroom in general! Lurch and I are having a brisk discussion about what kind of pelt that is. So, tell me...what is it?

Love that last photo!
ReplyDeleteLove your mirror with the boot tops! And the longhorn sink. Sometimes I really miss Texas! Lived there 26 1/2 years of my life so I try to incorporate a little bit of TX into my home here in TN. Great blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm confused! Ya, I realize you're not surprised. Anyway, what is that thing hanging in the second picture. I recognize the coon-skin cap, FringeBoy's got one, but I can't figure the other 'dead thing' out. Help me here...please. If not, I'll have to rely on my imagination and I hate to see what that'll turn up.

I think that drapey thing on the wall is wood
ReplyDeleteCher, I think the 'dead thing" on the wall looks like road kill, maybe thats not the observation you were looking for? However it does go with western "decor"! Angie
ReplyDeleteP.S. Is the electric fence wire spool for real, or just your sense of humor, I am never sure?
ReplyDeleteYou're right, shopping at home is terrific! I do it all the time too! Your "new" candle holder is great, and very unique too! I just wanted to thank you for visiting my blog, and for taking the time to leave a comment. I really appreciate that a lot. Have a lovely weekend!
