Christmas at the Redlover's House!

Missy Redlover is a friend of a friend. She LOVES the color red.

I don't think you understand so I'll say it again. MISSY LOVES THE COLOR RED!

Still not convinced? Then let me show you her kitchen.

You probably didn't notice but Missy's floor is a red and white checkerboard. A large, vinyl checkerboard! And it's laid on the diagonal! Isn't it wonderful?

I loved the old, large, table doily Missy had hung behind her red and gold door curtain. How many times have you wondered what to do with a big, ol' doily? Well, now you know.

The Christmas tree in the corner is one of...hey, I really don't know how many trees are in her house, but then, neither does she! Most of the tree lights and bulbs are family treasures. And when her mother's lights burned out, she put them in a Lance's container.

When I visited Missy's home, she couldn't get me out of the kitchen. "There's more to see," she insisted, but I wasn't interested. I was happy in her red kitchen with the knotty pine paneling.

Then she said those magic words: "I got old doll heads in the other room." So I went to look but not before I took a few more pictures!

This wonderful, garage sale, white island compliments the flooring and offers a wonderful display area underneath.

Everywhere you look the red and white tiles point to interesting, vintage pieces.

On the counter in the corner sits vintage mirrors, freebies picked up from somebody who didn't have a clue what to do with them and who will want them returned when she sees this photo.

Santas march along her kitchen window sill.

There was just so much to see and appreciate, but I finally followed her out of the kitchen to see her baby heads.

Come back Wednesday to see the rest of Missy Redlover's home!

  1. I LOVE that floor! It's awesome. I've always thought it would be great to have a real 50's style kitchen with checked floor and chrome table, etc. I love going to houses like this. You could just spend the day looking. Thank you Missy Redlover for sharing your home with us!
