When it's a pillow!
I picked up a couple of woven purses at garage sales this past summer. They look like their origin could be American Indian. Or Mexican Indian. Or maybe Portuguese Indian. But as much as I love the designs and the colors, they're not purses I'd carry down here in hot, humid South Texas.
So I decided to make them into something I would use...pillows! The idea was so simple I don't know why I didn't think of it immediately after I brought them home.
And it was an easy project. I just stuffed a pillow form into the purse instead of my checkbook and lipstick.
I used the strap as the pillow top, handstitching one side of it to the side of the purse. Before stitching the other side, I tucked in the remainder of the strap.
