Antlers and horns everywhere!

There’s an old joke that goes like this: If something in your table’s centerpiece used to be alive, you’re probably a Texan.

If that’s the case, Teresa Eliason, the boss of Relics (my favorite place to visit in Abilene...well, except for my cousins' house), is pure Texan. She has taken antlers and horns to new heights, so to speak. Just take a gander at some pictures I took at her place this Labor Day weekend.

OK, some of the pictures don't have horns in them, but I liked the look anyway!

This antler was painted black and held jewelry.

I bet this mirror could go on a wall too. But it would be a shame to lose those great textured candles.

Tomorrow Teresa tells us how she achieves such a rich look on her distressed furniture. She's so nice.

  1. I am so envious of your trip out west! We didn't hit any shops until Monday, when most seemed to be closed for the Holiday. And imagine, had we coordinated, we could have met. I love the looks of this place and am looking forward to my next trip that way, so I can peruse where you've perused! Thanks for sharing.

  2. Well, I am just as honored as I can be by your heart! Thank you, Cher! fyi..doc started a root canal today and the tooth is history. I'm on heavy drugs and have to make an appt with an oral surgeon to have it pulled. Surely I am too young for such things? Apparently not!

Thanks so much for the honor!

  3. I love the painted chairs. I have several pre-school size chairs (I use them to feed my greyhounds on) that I would like to paint different colors. Thanks for the award, I am honored!

  4. I grew up in a house with animals and horns all over the walls. My dad had a hobby of taxidermy and my dear mother was very tolerant. So for me the horns would make me crazy. Although I must admit that mirror is pretty fine looking!

Your opinion doesn't count, but I'd like to know what it is anyway! Please leave a comment!
