That's so Mickey Mouse!

On my way to work last Saturday morning {Shudder down my spine! I hate working Saturdays!} I tripped over a garage sale two blocks from my house.

The sale was so Mickey Mouse! No, I really mean that. The sale had a lot of Mickey Mouse stuff!

I'm not that into Mickey - or Minnie, for that matter - but I was attracted to seven Mickey and Minnie non-working watches.

I asked how much and the lady told me fifty cents. I muttered out loud, "Fifty cents times one, two, three..." but the lady interrupted me.

"No, fifty cents for all the watches," she explained.

All? The Mickeys? The Minnies? The plain faced? The Santa? The cat? COOL!

"OK. Then how much for the cross?"

"Oh, a quarter."

I went on to work happier than when I started out, that's for sure.

So I took off all the straps, wired the Mickey/Minnie watch faces together, and put magnetic closures on the ends to create a cutie of a junk bracelet.

I know it's cute because Renee said so!

  3. Well, there you are...being a Ms. Smarty Pants again! My daughter-in-law collects Mickey Mouse stuff. She would flip out over that! I will direct her to your photo!

  4. "I'm sorry, Mickey, but you can't file for divorce on the grounds that Minnie is crazy."

    "I didn't say she was crazy, I said she was f*@%in' Goofy!"

    You could set each watch to a different time zone. Why? Because we like you.

  5. I love that. I have a old Betty Boop watch that was made into a brooch. It has adorned my sailors Pea Coat or is it Pee Coat? For the last 20 years.

    genuine turquoise--worth half a zillion;
    you have great luck with finds like that.
