Pickin' out love!
I don't care if you like big dogs or small dogs, white ones or black ones, or cute little puppies, you can find love at your local animal shelter.
You can probably find it at the local bar too, if you set your sights low enough, but I'm talkin' animal love here. The kind of love that licks your face in the morning to wake you. The kind that goes on long walks with you, shares dinners with you, and cuddles in bed with you.
OK, maybe you can find that type of love at the local bar too but the kind of love that I'm talkin' about has hair all over its body. Oh, please, Malisa. Don't go there! You know what I'm talkin' about here!
Both our little "friends" are rescue dogs and I want you to know that I have one picked out for YOU! His name is Shane and I'm surprised no one has taken him home yet.
Aren't you?
I can't even GO to the shelters because I want to take them ALL home with me. Needless to say, that's why I have 8 rescued cats, and one rescued mentally handicapped dog. I would have more dogs except Sally is SO special, she hates all other dogs! There is no need for people to still be breeding dogs and cats. I think a "mix" is always more exciting. So, any of you out there thinking of a new pet. . .GO TO THE SHELTERS! Thanks for the great post Cher!
ReplyDeleteTake care, Sue
I already have Lurch. I can't adopt another one! However, your post did excite me talking about hairy, lickin' and cuddlin'! Thanks, I needed that!

Poor Shane needs a Doggie Dentist? Isn't there a big hearted dentist out there who would give Shane a new set of chompers? Please! Check out my blog in a few minutes and I will show you a puppy with pretty teeth!

I would take him in a minute if my hubby would let me, we almost have a farm here ourselves! I hope after you post this someone will resuce him, he is too adorable, keep us posted! Many Blessings, Janna
ReplyDeleteLaw! That's a face only a mother could love! Ever heard the expression "they are so ugly they're cute"? Shane is just that.

I would take Shane in a heartbeat. Can you imagine the comments you would get from people?
ReplyDeleteOh My what an interesting puppy.
Have you ever thought about doggie orthodontics?
Well I guess he could come in handy for scoopin up Cheerios.
My what big teeth he has!

Shane is adorable, I hope he finds someone to take him home and love him. We live in the country and people just drop off dogs and they usually find our house. We have had five dogs at one time. That is a bit much. I always love the under doggies, they make the best pets..
ReplyDeleteLooking at Shane's face, an old Beatles' song starts playing in my head:
ReplyDeleteClose your eyes and I'll kiss you
Tomorrow I'll miss you
Remember I'll always be true
...
And I send all my loving to you-oo-oo-oo-oo.
Love my pooch too! She was a gift for our daughters. (Only way hubby lets them come here, Other ways to out smart him lol ;0) I am interested in seeing some of your paintings too! I am scared to see how mine will come out. And if mine look like they did in High school... well lets just say... they will end up it the closet again too! So hopefully it will be much better! Good luck in your painting dear Cher, and keep me posted on yours too! :D Looking forward to seeing some of yours! xo
ReplyDeleteLaughing....what a face!!! I have adopted all three cats from shelters. I'm allergic to dogs but not cats - strange huh! I've had dogs too...just love animals. That unconditional love is the very best!
ReplyDeleteWe had a dog that looked just like that... Virgil... the sweetest thing. He was always smiling.. upside down. Wish I had more space, he'd be living with us. I love those teeth, I don't like PRETTY dogs. ~PJ
ReplyDeleteWhoever said you can't buy love, forgot about puppies.
